THE TRIPTYCH SERIES

Triptych /'trɪptɪk/
noun
A set of three associated artistic, literary, or musical works intended to be appreciated together.

This intertwined series is about the lives and loves of three professionally successful women in their mid-40s who have been friends for over two decades and are at a crossroads in their lives. The books run concurrently, mostly within the span of six weeks, and include crossover scenes/events from the main female characters' points of view. They can be read alone, but the best experience will come from reading all of them in order.

Read a draft version of the Prologue and Chapter 1 of each book in the series here. Check content warnings if you have triggers.

DISRUPTED

Book 1 in the Triptych series.

"Women disrupted many ageist and sexist expectations regarding older women's dating lives. They challenged the gendered double standard providing men with much more flexibility with regard to choosing younger partners."
~ Dr Milaine Alarie

Yolanda is angry. Her partner of ten years wants another break - his third in two years. This time, she won't wait for him.

Enter 24-year-old Jacob, who rocks her steadfast life to its foundations and challenges her opinions with wisdom beyond his years.

Reluctant to encourage him at first, due to the age gap, Yolanda soon warms to this promising young semi-pro footballer. But her courage is tested not only by thinly-veiled ridicule from the circle of friends she still shares with her ex, but also unintentionally at an industry dinner amongst peers when Jacob is assumed to be a paid male escort. On top of that, he's being courted by a talent scout from a Ligue 1 team, and a contract to play in France is thought to be only weeks away. Is the disruption too much?

SETTING THE HOOK

Book 2 in the Triptych series.

"In the lexicon of the fly-fishermen, the words rise and hooked connotate the successful and desirable climax; landing a fish is purely anticlimax."
~ Vincent C. Marinaro

Annika and Tim have been in love for 12 years. The problem is, he's her sister's husband. Before they can act on their love, Tim is killed in a helicopter crash while on a fly-fishing trip.

In her private grief, Annika turns to his charismatic younger brother, Daniel. Based in the USA, he's a talented musician, writer, actor and director, and his wife also happened to serve him with divorce papers on the same day he flew home for the funeral.

As they embark on a brief and sensual fling, pragmatic and independent (almost reclusive) Annika doesn't think their connection is anything more than a way to process their shared heartache. But when Daniel confesses his feelings for her, she contemplates whether she should set the hook or let him go.

BY THE EYE, BY THE HAND

Book 3 in the Triptych series.

"Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel. Every one sees what you appear to be, very few really know what you are."
~ Niccolo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli

A lie brought them together… will the truth tear them apart?

Imogen and Harrison Banks are passionately in love with one another. They also enjoy a non-monogamous marriage that few people know about.

But when Harrison starts seeing Amanda Stanley, who is cheating on her Hawaiian husband, Herd, the former investigative journalist in Imogen takes issue, fuelled by betrayals and injustices that marred her adolescence and early adulthood.

Under the guise of celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary in Hawai‘i, Imogen manipulates her way into Herd’s life and seduces him to even the score—for him—as she prepares to expose his wife’s affair. But, normally expert at playing games with others, she soon realises she has met her match in this pensive, unassuming artist. His eyes see through her polished veneer, and his hands have come to know her too well.

Plagued by second thoughts about continuing her stubborn quest to uncover the truth, Imogen knows she will only end up hurting the man she has—alarmingly—grown to love, who neither deserves it nor invited her interference.

To protect her heart, will she break his?
