"In the lexicon of the fly-fishermen, the words rise and hooked connotate the successful and desirable climax; landing a fish is purely anticlimax."
~ Vincent C. Marinaro

Annika and Tim have been in love for 12 years. The problem is, he's her sister's husband. Before they can act on their love, Tim is killed in a helicopter crash while on a fly-fishing trip.

In her private grief, Annika turns to his charismatic younger brother, Daniel. Based in the USA, he's a talented musician, writer, actor and director, and his wife also happened to serve him with divorce papers on the same day he flew home for the funeral.

As they embark on a brief and sensual fling, pragmatic and independent (almost reclusive) Annika doesn't think their connection is anything more than a way to process their shared heartache. But when Daniel confesses his feelings for her, she contemplates whether she should set the hook or let him go.

This is the second book in an intertwined series about the lives and loves of three professionally successful women in their mid-40s who have been friends for over two decades and are at a crossroads in their lives. The books run concurrently, mostly within the span of six weeks, and include crossover scenes/events from the main female characters' points of view. They can be read alone, but the best experience will come from reading all of them in order.
